Favorite photos: Greece

In April 2009, Andrew and I escaped the cold and rain of Stavanger and spent ten days in Greece.

One of my favorite trips ever.

Weekend

February 27, 2012 § Leave a Comment

Phew, that was a tiring weekend.

So much so that I went to bed before the Oscars were over! First time ever!

However, before we all crashed, we had a bit of party going on over at @leahslag‘s house. This was only half the room, we also had three iPads going…sick…lots of live tweeting going on.

This might be one of my new favorite photos…pretty classic

I felt sorry for Andrew and Dad — they don’t care much for Oscars or Twitter, thus they were ordered to take care of dogs, refill drinks, and bring us more lasagna, antipasti, cupcakes, and cookies when needed.

Check out this unbelievably beautiful amaryllis in the yoga studio, which bloomed over the weekend! How perfect!

Ok, I’ll be back later in the day with a little fictional character wish list.

My “Bring-on-Spring” Wish List

February 26, 2012 § 1 Comment

Spring is coming and I already have a list of things I want to get into the spirit!

Dansko Tasha sandal in Red: hopefully can be purchased on upcoming pilgrimage to Discount Shoes in Asheville, NC.

Aqua Notes - are these not adorably amazing!?!?!

Yes, I know I’ve already listed this before, and yes it’s still pretty stupid and yes, I still want it:

Zoku Popsicle maker

J. Crew Pepper Pant

produce bags from Flip and Tumble

like my Christmas wish list a couple months ago, these things are all pretty frivolous….oh well, bring on Spring!!!

Favorites: another snack

February 25, 2012 § 5 Comments

I thought I would share another favorite snack of mine. I love to eat this for lunch on the weekends – so good.

Ingredients:

good bread (I used marble rye in the photos above, but I also love these with pumpernickel)
goat cheese
cherry or grape tomatoes
garlic
fresh herb or greens

Preheat oven to somewhere between 375 and 400 degrees…I’m not very precise, I just walk over & crank up the oven when I decide to make this…

chop garlic (or just use minced out of a jar) and spread on bread slices

if goat cheese is cold from the fridge, I put it in a bowl and microwave for about 5-10 seconds until it is spreadable
spread cheese on slices

top w/ halved tomatoes

place slices in hot oven, directly on the rack and toast until tomatoes pop and begin to get all melty and soft.

drizzle with balsamic vinegar and top w/ the fresh herbs

EAT.

Happy Friday Y’all! February 24, 2012

February 24, 2012 § Leave a Comment

 Happy Friday everyone….

Can’t say that I’m as enthusiastic as usual this week. Working out in the field today–lots of odds & ends…yoga all night tonight, then all day tomorrow, then all day Sunday. Don’t get me wrong, I love yoga, but not having a free day on the weekend kills me!

Also, I feel like a total Oscar slacker this year. Typically, the Oscars are my Super Bowl. However, this year I have only seen one of the nominated films and even worse, I don’t care! Of course I will watch, but I think I will be invested in fashions more than anything.

On a brighter note, last night’s Facetime Louisville event was so much fun! Great attendance–so many laughs and excitement! Can’t wait to do it again!

Here are a couple camera photos from @tommyspalding, one of the amazing hosts of the event.

Have a good one!

I want to live in a Bonsai tree house

February 23, 2012 § 2 Comments

Wouldn’t you just love to go live in one of these amazing Bonsai tree houses?

I would love to see these in person — I have a feeling the pictures do not do justice to these beautiful pieces from Takanori Aiba.

yoga overdrive

February 22, 2012 § 1 Comment

Things have been extra busy this week and they are about to get busier. Yesterday I landed my first paying gig as a yoga teacher! I will be teaching a couple classes a week at the YMCA here in Corydon!

Also, the gallery/studio space at 326 S. Capital is almost ready and we hopefully can have class there soon.

Life has been a little yoga crazy lately, lots of classes at Yoga on Baxter, a full weekend workshop for teacher training this weekend, teaching for my fellow employees at the office, and now this!

Not that I’m complaining, it’s been great.

I want to give a quick shout out to fellow Louisville yogini, Cat Larimore. She has a great new website for local yogis and yoga instructors – her class playlists are amazing!

Where Am I?
