a new summer toy

this weekend my Dad brought home this beautiful new Vespa GTV 300 in Portofino Green from Highland Motorsport in Louisville. It’s so nice that it’s hard to even put the excitement into words.
I’ve been obsessed with Vespas ever since studying abroad in Spain six years ago….I can’t think of a better way to zip around Corydon!
However, unlike my Dad, Andrew, and my brother, I do not have a motorcycle license, thus I can’t really drive this big guy by myself…which is why I need me one of these little ones.
Not only does my Dad has a thing for italian scooters, but also restoring vintage Honda motorcycles. Andrew is currently working on his own Superhawk, my brother has one, and Dad has these beauties.
It’s all so fun–another reason why living back home is just fabulous.
Come test drive a 50cc Vespa that doesn’t require a motorcycle license but still brings a lot of fun and fuel savings to the road! Chris from Highland Motorsport

In one of the great teenager movies from my era, “American Graffiti”, one of the guys (“Toad”) had a Vespa, which he famously called “almost a motorcycle.”
