Goodbye Maurice Sendak

May 9, 2012 § 3 Comments

In honor of Maurice Sendak’s death yesterday, I want to share some of my favorite children’s books.

A few years ago, I originally wanted to get my master’s in children’s literature, so they are pretty much one of my favorite things ever.

I have about a thousand more favorites, along with Where the Wild Things Are of course.

what are your favorites?

The Frances books were always a favorite of mine. I also loved the “If you give a mouse a cookie” series. I still reference that book when referring the what has started a chain of events to this day :)

Gosh, I loved loved loved Animalia! So wonderful. My cousins and I always loved staying on a page and look at them all.

  • Have you ever read “A Hole is to Dig”? One of my favorites, and I believe completely hilarious. I think it defined my sense of humor! :)
