After 10 years, these guys have been to hell and back with me. 4 years hiking and swimming hole swimming in Asheville, 7 weeks in Spain, 1 week in Rome, a summer at Camp Walt Whitman, 3 weeks backpacking across Europe, a year in the fjords, a year in drizzle, a year in sweltering madness, and two years chilling back home.

I’m shipping them off to be resoled and to get new straps. I love Chaco…they are an amazing company. Thank goodness I have two other pair here at home until the return…ha!

And here we are again at the end of another month! And Thursday is my last day of work (day job) for the summer! What in the heck!?

I’m adding a couple new things to my schedule at the studio  and I’m going to be teaching a couple classes in Louisville as well! What I’ve finally learned this year (especially since discovering YogaGlo) is that this practice is not linear. You have great days, okay days, and down right crappy days. Aches and pains (dang left hip!) can force you to focus on things you don’t naturally gravitate towards (backbending) and that is a good thing. I’ve officially left the Ashtanga vinyasa system for straight up vinyasa classes with Iyengar mixed in. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Ashtanga and would practice it regularly if I lived near this teacher, but I don’t, so my virtual instructors Kathryn Budig, Tiffany Cruikshank, Christina Sell, and Dice Iida-Klein along with various local teachers have taken over.

I look forward to a summer full of yoga with a little bit of Ashtanga thrown in there (I mean, come on Kino Macgregor is going to be at Yoga East again!) However, I am not going to give myself any specific yoga goals for the summer (I know, crazy right?!). I am just going to take it one day at a time.

Discovered Laura Mvula after hearing a review of her album on All Things Considered yesterday afternoon while driving home from…MY JEOPARDY AUDITION! Immediately loved everything I heard from it, so added to my Spring 2013 playlist, which is getting pretty long by now:

We had a great time in Nashville. Such a great time that I didn’t even bother to grab my camera out of the trunk! So, no photos come next Tueday…wahhhh. We had a fabulous night out with stops at The Silly Goose, Jeni’s Splendid ice cream, and this bar.

I had a blast at the audition. They try to make it tons of fun and there were lots of very nice people to laugh and chat with. Getting to use a real Jeopardy buzzer? Definitely a dream come true….hahaha. Overall I feel pretty confident about my performance on the test, but you never know. Now it’s waiting game…I could be called to play any time within the next 18 months!

Not sure any other 8 second video can better express my happiness today.

I know I seem to say this every Friday, but….holy crap thank GOD it’s Friday! I enjoy my job (very much), but whenever you have days like I did this week (inventory of 11,000 books, coming home to find Reuben shredded all cardboard recycling and distributed it throughout the house…TWICE…locking wallet in a walk-in freezer…I know, I know…don’t ask), Fridays are celebrated.

Coming straight home after work today to do some serious, serious yoga. I need it.

I’m reading Oliver Jeffers books all week to kids at school and we are all loving it. He’s pretty much perfect. Not only does he do many, many wonderful picture books, but has some truly enchanting iPad versions of his books! Read by the one and only Helena Bonham Carter!?!? The kids go crazy for this. Dying. A little while back I was contacted by Dress United about featuring their custom t-shirt service. This service was ridiculously easy and I am seriously considering putting in an order for more. I am very picky when it comes to tshirts…let alone custom made ones. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than a custom tshirt that is super thick, heavy, and splattered with rough screenprinting. This shirt exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Not only is it super duper soft, but the images are seamlessly printed onto the shirt as if they’ve been there forever.

Thank you so much for this opportunity Dress United. I can’t wait to show it off around town.

And that’s so totally it for this week. You know that feeling when there seem to be a million different things coming together all at once and it’s all you can do to just barely get through it all? Yeah, that. Asheville this weekend should be a nice little break, then bring on Nashville and the end of school. I cannot wait until summer. You can tell I don’t care much about Derby…leaving for Asheville for the whole weekend and it doesn’t even factor in to all the events I have going on…Hoosier at heart I suppose.

Oh and it doesn’t help matters much that allergies struck me down AGAIN and I haven’t had much of a voice this week. Boo
