Discovered Laura Mvula after hearing a review of her album on All Things Considered yesterday afternoon while driving home from…MY JEOPARDY AUDITION! Immediately loved everything I heard from it, so added to my Spring 2013 playlist, which is getting pretty long by now:
We had a great time in Nashville. Such a great time that I didn’t even bother to grab my camera out of the trunk! So, no photos come next Tueday…wahhhh. We had a fabulous night out with stops at The Silly Goose, Jeni’s Splendid ice cream, and this bar.
I had a blast at the audition. They try to make it tons of fun and there were lots of very nice people to laugh and chat with. Getting to use a real Jeopardy buzzer? Definitely a dream come true….hahaha. Overall I feel pretty confident about my performance on the test, but you never know. Now it’s waiting game…I could be called to play any time within the next 18 months!

I totally spaced on a Happy Friday post this week. Whoops!
I’ve been half-heartedly keeping tabs on Coachella coverage the past two weekends. I would have really really really really really liked to have seen this R. Kelly/Phoenix collaboration.
Also, this performance isn’t doing anything to help my current James Blake obsession...his new album? Amazing.

Caught up with Nashville last night and thank goodness they finally let Lennon and Maisy sing again!
Totally and completely uneventful week around here…except for the fact that I got an audition to be on Jeopardy!!!!!!!!!!
Dying. It’s in Nashville next month…will be cramming until then.

I mean…come on. I somehow have never heard of the Bregenz Festival in Austria until this week. While I’m not much of an opera fan (being forced to sit through La Boheme at the age of six has long-lasting effects…just kidding…big thanks to Mom for taking us…that couldn’t have been easy), I do appreciate it. However, the floating stages featured in this thing every year actually took my breath away. How unbelievable are these?!?!?! I would give just about anything to see one of these in person.

I want to ask the question: how is it possible to be bored these days?
There is so much I want to do, read, see, make, eat, drink, watch, that at the end of every day I am left wishing I had a few hours.
I love this show and want to finish it, but also have this show and my favorite show ever starting back and I have still never seen The Wire, which let’s face it, I know I’m missing out big time.
I am reading this book, but also have another bookclub selection, and some books for work that I’d like to read…Not to mention the long awaited My Friend series that always just sits around waiting…
Then I get really overwhelmed when I start thinking about all the classes I want to do here…then I would also love to get back into running…then I would also love to cook every recipe on Sprouted Kitchen, Shutterbean, andhere.
Oh and I would also like to this restaurant, go to the Louisville Science Center to see this exhibit.
PLUS……I would love to plan/go on a vacation, take more photos, more motorcycle rides, blog posts to write, blogs to read, cocktails to make, yoga workshops to attend, and ETC, ETC, ETC, ETC.
I love how accessible things are these days and how much Louisville has changed since I last lived here. There are too many options and I love it…but it kinda makes my head want to pop off…please tell me I’m not alone?!?!
Oh wait…I guess I also have to work too….
bummer.

Happy Friday indeed!
Feeling great today. Things are a little less stressed around these parts–Andrew accepted a new job offer yesterday. He’s been without a job for almost four months now. Things can now go on. Aside from the lack of income & health insurance a job provides, I consider the limbo of job turmoil to be the worst thing about it. It’s almost as if life is on hold or something…Blah!
Another thing that makes this weekend great? The new Tegan and Sara album. Wowzers, I’m loving it!

Totally spaced on a Valentine’s post for yesterday, so I suppose I’ll put a pic up today. My idea of true love? Arriving in a Scandinavian country where a beer cost $20, long underwear is required, there is only 4 hours of daylight, and your apartment is 300 sq. ft and then…getting married. WHAT were we THINKING?!

Things that defined my week: the horrifying realization that I have allergies, the Postal Service’s first new song in over a decade, discovering this list…whoa, didn’t realize so many great albums are coming out in 2013! Also, I don’t think I could have made it through this week without homemade smoothies–recipes coming up soon!
