glorious weather, again!

Again, the weather was glorious for the weekend. High five to whoever decided to have these beautiful days land on Saturday and Sunday!
Friday after work I headed over to Sassy Fox where I had won one of their adorable (and ridiculously soft) new tshirts! Thanks ladies! Of course I had to browse as well…needless to say I came home with some new stuff…and to an email that advertised the Groupon for the day…for Sassy Fox! Of course I snatched that up, so I should be heading back soon. Yes!
Saturday headed up to Cincinnati to visit with friends. Ate a trio of bbq sandwiches, went a little over board on frames at IKEA, ate ice cream, and Jungle Jims-ed it.
Sunday was spent cleaning, laundrying, yogaing, etc. It’s truly a little annoying how much of a homebody I am, but I just love being at my house–ha! Plus, these Bagel Boys (the dogs) are such a handful, especially that Reuben…see who finally discovered those books can come down off that shelf?!? AH!
There is some construction happening right outside our house right now and I found those detour signs to be very confusing…

hey hey hey all! Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day outside.
To be honest, I’ve had a pretty amazing week. Lots of exciting news on the job front, great weather, podcast blog shout outs, and tomorrow? A trip to Ikea and a foodie’s paradise.

So…I try not to get too obsessed with shopping and thanks to the best little place, I find most of my clothes on consignment. However, there is one store/website that KILLS ME.
Is it possible for one place to produce basically every piece of clothing I would ever want need like LOVE?!?
Latest looks I am loving from Madewell….le sigh….
All I can say is…THANK GOD we don’t have one of these in Louisville…I would be completely broke/even more tortured.

an obsession with grocery shopping

I love love love to go grocery shopping.
Now that I don’t work in Louisville anymore, I have to be a little more organized with my trips. Of course there are grocery stores in Corydon, but there a few staples you simply can’t find here — No coconut milk, tahini, etc.
Today I’m meeting some friends for lunch then heading out to multiple locations, freezer bags in hand!
Does anyone else have an obsession with grocery shopping? Where’s your favorite place to shop?

Road trip!
we had an amazing weekend in Asheville — so beautiful down there!
Lots of retail therapy (a million thank yous to my auntie Lis — finally got my Smart Wool booties! Lots of eating & drinking at the best restaurants, basketball watching, visiting w/ friends, etc.

I hate wearing shorts…my legs are never tan and as soon as you walk inside anywhere, you are blasted with frigid air conditioning…well, let me take that back — I hate wearing shorts WITHOUT tights…with tights? I love me that look!
My favorite consignment shop here in Louisville put out their spring stuff yesterday — definitely going to make a trip today to get first look!

In a recent episode of NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, the gang discussed their favorite guilty pleasures and if there even needs to be such a category. Linda Holmes argued that a pleasure (whenever pop culture is concerned) should never be guilty. So, in other words, if you enjoy it–then it’s good!
While I can see her point, there are definitely many things I like and enjoy that are just plain unnecessary and somewhat destructive.

frozen wafer dough that you bake at home: cheesy and buttery and dangerous.
enjoyable in the car, in the kitchen, while running, while showering, etc.
Unique and authentic? I don’t think so. Affordable? Yes, because they are owned by Wal-Mart
